Have your say about telecommunications services in Clare Valley

Residents and businesses in Clare and the surrounding region are encouraged to attend an upcoming meeting to share their views about the quality and accessibility of internet and mobile phone services in the area.

The Regional Telecommunications Independent Review Committee is holding a series of public consultations across regional Australia to find out how communities can maximise the social and economic benefits that digital technology provides.

The Committee will be holding a meeting on 26 June from 11 am – 1 pm.

The location will be Clare Country Club, White Hut Road, Clare.

The Committee are inviting local residents and businesses to come along to find out more about the review and ensure their views are heard.

The Chair, Sean Edwards, said the Committee are keen to hear from a broad range of people about how they currently use digital technology and how this could be improved.

“We want to hear from individuals, businesses and community groups based in regional Australia about the standard and availability of phone and internet services for personal and business use,” Mr Edwards said.

“The Committee wants you to have your say on what's working well for you and if there are gaps in the services you regularly access.”

“We recognise how important telecommunications services are to people in Clare, and would like to understand how people in the region have adopted new and emerging technologies for business, farming, education and community activities.”

The Committee will report to Senator the Hon Bridget McKenzie, Minister for Regional Communications, by 30 September 2018. Submissions will be accepted until 5 August 2018, 5 pm (AEST).
